Authors

Hi beautiful authors,

On Fiery Fantasy Book Reviews Site, we offer our talented magical storytellers two ways to advertise on our site.

The three methods of sharing your work with a larger YA, Fantasy audience are as follows:

  • Book of the Month
  • Blog Tours
  • Advertising on the Fiery Books’ page

Book of the Month

Each month, we look at amazing books that we have either reviewed or books which have been recommended to us by readers or the author of the novel.

These books must have at least 4 wings on the Fiery Fantasy Book Reviews Site or an average of 4 out of 5 stars on Amazon or Smashwords.

Once we make our decision, one book will be posted on the main page of our site and will remain there for a month, without any fee or payment from the author or person to recommend this fantastic read to us.

If you would like to recommend a book for the 'book of the month' space on our site, then please email us with the following information and who knows...your recommendation could be there next month:

  • An Amazon or Smashword link for the recommended book
  • Genre of Book (e.g. YA, Fantasy, Paranormal, etc)
  • Average amount of stars (or wings)

We may delay a book if we are overwhelmed with requests but if this is the case, if we are interested in your book then we may post it in future months, so keep checking our site.

Some author’s do not want to have a Blog Tour but still want to advertise their work to a larger audience, so Fiery Fantasy Book Reviews Site understood this and have created another option which helps authors advertise their work to the visitors (and followers) of site.

Here are the Fiery Books Advertising Packages for Authors:

Embers at Galdrilene (Dragon's Call) Book Review

Author: A.D. Trosper
Date of Publication: May 4, 2012 (Kindle)
Publisher: Silver Spirit Publishing
Pages: 496
Genre: YA, Fantasy
Paperback or Kindle: Both

Fiery Fantasy Thoughts

The war between the Guardians and the Shadow Riders ended in total devastation. The final battle killed all the dragons and left nothing but fields of ash. A small clutch of dragon eggs was all that remained to provide hope for the future.

Five hundred years later, the ability to use magic is a death sentence and dragons are remembered as a curse. But the un-hatched dragons sing for their riders...and six lives will be changed forever.

The elements of magic are drawn together as the dragons’ call leads them on a journey where they learn everything they've been taught to believe about magic and dragons is wrong.

With the last of the dragons and the world at stake, they will risk everything to heed the call.

But an evil from the past rises again. Shadow Dragons ride the dawn once more...

Firstly, I am not usually into fantasy books (that is Eva's interest!) however, this book pulls you straight in with the emotional descriptions of how painful it is for a rider to loose a dragon in battle.

We get to experience this as the story starts with Emallya fighting for her life as her dragon (Rylin) lays beside her, dead.

The separation Emallya experiences from loosing Rylin is beautifully narrated as you feel every inch of her pain, anguish and lack of desire to go on as this missing piece of her life will never be seen again.

I loved the way the author built up this fantasy world by showing the reader the scenes from each character's POV, however I did feel that this style of writing repeated a few scenario's which slightly dragged for me.

In the beginning the reader is propelled into the story with all the magical action of understanding how they would survive the aftermath of this war. The pace in the middle slowed down slightly as the author introduced us to new, strong characters and allowed us to understand the world a little more and in the end the pace picked back up, allowing a few questions to be answered in the fiery style of the beginning (no spoilers!).

I really enjoyed this novel and would recommend it to anyone who loves their fantasy books fast, in depth and magical from beginning to end!

I give it 4 wings out of 5 as I did enjoy and I think I am transformed into a Fantasy Fan!

Beautiful Experiment, Book One - Island of Defiance Trilogy Book Review

Author: January Valentine
Date of Publication: June 1, 2013 (Kindle)
Publisher: Water Forest Press
Pages: 332
Genre: YA, Fantasy
Paperback or Kindle: Both

Fiery Fantasy Thoughts

Brook is a 17 year old boy who knows nothing apart from being on this island and helping his ‘Father’ deal with the shipment of ‘Waywards’ that would come to the island for rehabilitation.

As the ‘Waywards’ come and go, Brook gets used to listening to his ‘Fathers’ ways on life until he starts to approach his eighteen birthday and a new set of ‘Waywards’ are delivered to the island, who arrive with more than bad attitudes and the desire to escape…

I personally found the beginning of the book to be a little slow as we are shown ‘Father’s’ personality in detail and we are introduced to each ‘Wayward’, along with their annoying, obnoxious ways.

There is a lot of dialogue between the characters (especially the ‘Waywards’), at the start, which leads us from the beach shore (where they depart the boat) to the showers and although I understood that the dialogue helped establish each character’s insufferable personalities, I felt it went on for a little bit too long as nothing was really happening.

My favourite character as to be Brook and I loved his tormented personality. Although he listened to ‘Father’ out of respect for him, he could not brush off that there was something more to the island (and himself) when the noises started to get into his head and his appearance began to change…

There was a realistic build up to the cute romance with winy Gabriella and she opens his eyes that ‘Father’ may not be as honest as he seems.

I was slightly thrown by the consistency of some areas of the storyline, e.g. the introduction to the ‘Waywards’ was long and detailed but there was a very short dialogue between ‘Father’ and Brook about where his mother is. Something so serious and emotional needed a little more anguish I thought, as Brook seemed to accept it immediately.

If you are looking for a book which has strong characters and slow building fantasy mystery - then I would recommend this book for you!

3.5 wings means that although I wasn't lost in the story, I was bitten by a cute vampire and am now going through a slow change! lol

Excerpt:

Chapter 3: No Happy Endings "I want you to stay away from that girl,” I say. “But she’s Laney’s cousin. I can’t avoid her without doing the same to Laney.” “Maybe that’s just how it has to be, then.” Giving up friends, it’s something Van should get used to, now, because it isn’t going to stop any time soon. Van shakes her head. “No, Zander. She’s my best friend. I’m not going to bail on Laney like that.” “You think she’ll be happy you stayed friends with her when you kill her pretty little cousin?” I snap. Her head drops down, but I can still see the corner of her mouth twitching. “I can control it. I won’t hurt her.” “You can’t guarantee that.” “I won’t live like you,” she says quietly. “I won’t live alone for the rest of my life because I’m scared of hurting people.” I sigh and close my eyes. “It’s not about being scared, Van. It’s about being smart. Stay away from her.” For a long moment, she doesn’t say anything. Deep down, I’m hoping with everything I have that she’ll listen to me. I can’t go through it again. Oscar nearly broke me. She can’t expect me to go through that with her. I won’t make it. Please just listen to me, I beg. When she finally speaks, her voice startles me. “She knows something.” It’s just a simple sentence, but it ignites my anger like a match to a fuse. “She doesn’t know anything! Nobody does. Get that through your head and quit looking for answers, Van!” My sister’s head snaps up and my hands tighten into fists at the determination in her eyes. “She knows something, and I’m going to find out what it is.” Then she throws open the door of the truck and runs away.
